Reduced Fees on Park Permits and Camping

With spring break just around the corner we thought we would remind everyone again this year that if you buy park permits before March 31st there is a discount...and who doesn't want to save a little money?

Happy Spring!

Park Fees

All annual permits purchased after December 16, 2009 will expire December 31, 2010.

To clear up any misunderstandings, only one motor vehicle permit per year is required per vehicle. Purchasing an "off-season" permit (between 1/1/2010 - 3/31/2010 or between 10/1/2010 - 12/31/2010) still entitles you, for the remainder of the year, to enter all Kansas state parks in the motor vehicle to which this permit is affixed. By purchasing your permit early in the year, you avoid long lines and save money, as well as providing us continuous funding to keep your parks in great shape for you.

SandHills State Park - a state park motor vehicle permit is required for entry. The trail pass is no longer required.

National Guard Permit
State funding has been made available to provide free park vehicle permits to active members of the Kansas National Guard. DO NOT FAX!

If purchasing a second vehicle permit, the vehicle registration must be in the same name as the first purchase.

**Vehicle Permits

A daily or annual motor vehicle permit is required for all vehicles entering a Kansas State Park. All daily vehicle permits expire at noon the day following purchase except Sundays, Memorial, Independence and Labor days when they expire at 2:00 pm.

Temporary Permits, which need to be exchanged for permanent permits, are now available online or visit a Kansas Department of Wildlife & Parks office, or a licensed agent to exchange or purchase a permanent permit. You must provide vehicle registration at time of purchase for a second vehicle permit. If purchasing a second vehicle permit, the vehicle registration must be in the same name as the first purchase.
